Applications of 2N-OCWOC *******

2N-OWOC structures consist of 2N (N = 1,2,...) thin plates of NLO birefringently phase-matched materials (KTP, BBO, AgGaS2...) arranged for walk-off compensation and stacked (by optical adherence or diffusion-bonding, which insure no boundary losses) to form a monolithic periodic array whose effective walk-off is reduced as compared with a bulk crystal.
  • efficient alternative to quasi-phase-matched (QPM) crystals for blue, UV, deep UV and mid-IR frequency conversion.
  • design of powerful cw or pulsed laser sources in non standard spectral wavelengths, e.g. for laser cooling of atomic species.
  • Design of mid-IR cw OPOs with critically phase matched chalcogenide compounds.
