Introduction to NLOT
1. Presentation & Company's GoalsNonLinear Optics Technologies (NLOT) is a consulting & sales company founded by a consortium of academic scientists skilled in various areas of fundamental and applied optics. Its intended aim is to serve the Optics and Optical Physics community as well as industrial and other fields of science using optical technologies, by providing their skills and experience in the conception, analysis, optimization and design of nonlinear laser sources based on parametric conversion processes in nonlinear passive or active media. NonLinear Optics (NLO) has a
wide field of applications, ranging from fundamental aspects
(understanding the physics and dynamics of light-matter interactions)
to various practical applications in today's life (production and use
of
tunable
coherent radiation throughout the whole electromagnetic spectrum). Our
purpose is to help end-users (institutional laboratories, private
companies, ...) non
familiar with Nonlinear Optics to design appropriate coherent optical
sources on demand. Our services include scientific consulting on the
fundamental aspects (including computational optimization tasks)
as well as practical design and implementation of NLO devices (based on
second/sum/difference frequency generations, optical parametric
amplification or oscillation, OPA/OPO). From our experience as
physicists, achieving high
performance devices requires many
subtleness not delt with in standard specialized text or data books.
Calling for relevant expertise can save end-users from time-consuming
efforts. Our skills range from material physics (crystal growth, solid-sate ) to laser physics and nonlinear light-matter interactions from the continuous-wave (cw) to pulsed regimes (nanosecond to femtosecond).
